NORFOLK, Neb.— A project that’s been in the works is now officially open at a Norfolk school.

Community members gathered for a ribbon cutting at St. Paul’s Lutheran School, celebrating a new addition aimed at better serving the people who rely on it every day.

Leaders say the updates aren’t just about looks, they’re about making the space more functional, more comfortable, and easier for students and staff to use.

They say getting to this point took time and support from the community along the way.

“You come in here when it's in the middle of construction and it's bare bones, and you don't have any idea of what it's really going to look like and how the space will be used in the future,” Principal Scott Brown said. “This has been such a great blessing to be in here today with you and for our ribbon cutting ceremony today. We've had our basketball games and our volleyball games played in our new gym this year, and so that's been an amazing difference.”

The new space includes updates and expanded areas to keep up with growing needs, while also creating a more welcoming environment overall.

After the ceremony, people were able to walk through the addition and see the changes for themselves.

The principal say they’re excited to finally open the doors and continue serving the community in a space that better fits what people need.
