Two in custody after man found dead in Pine Ridge Village

PINE RIDGE, S.D. - A man and woman have been arrested after a man was found dead with stab wounds in Pine Ridge Village, according to the Oglala Sioux Tribe Department of Public Safety (OSTDPS).

First responders were called to a report of an unresponsive man around 2:00 p.m. on May 11. Despite life-saving efforts from medics, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators later identified a separate residence as the scene of the assault. A male and female suspect were taken into custody at that location.

The OSTDPS Criminal Investigations Division is working with the FBI to determine what led to the man’s death. His identity has not yet been released.
